How does ParkMyRig work ?

It's simple! We've broken it down into three easy steps:

  1. Search: Enter your location and dates to browse our community of secure, private parking spots for your caravan, boat, or trailer.
  2. Book: Found the perfect spot? Send a booking request to the Host. Your payment is held securely by our payment partner, Stripe, until the Host accepts.
  3. Park: Once accepted, you'll receive the exact address and contact details. Simply arrive on the day and park your rig with peace of mind.

Is my payment secure?

Yes, 100%. We use Stripe, a global leader in online payments, to process all transactions. Your payment details are encrypted and never stored on our servers. The Host is only paid after your booking is confirmed, and we securely handle all recurring monthly payments for you.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both Guests and Hosts. You can receive a full refund if you cancel more than 7 days before your booking starts. For more details, please see our full Terms of Service.

Is my vehicle insured while it's parked?

The responsibility for insuring your vehicle (your caravan, boat, etc.) remains with you, the Guest. Your existing vehicle insurance policy should cover it while it is parked. We strongly recommend you confirm with your insurance provider that your policy covers storage at a third-party location. Hosts are responsible for their own property and liability insurance.

How do I communicate with the Host?

Once your booking is accepted, you can communicate with the Host directly through our secure messaging system on the ParkMyRig platform. This is the best way to arrange specific arrival times and ask any questions you may have about the space.

How do I list my space?

It's easy and completely free to list your space! Just click the + List Your Space button and follow the simple steps. You'll be asked to provide:

  • Photos of your space
  • A detailed description
  • Your nightly price
  • Details about the space, like the surface type and security features.

Pro Tip: A great listing with good photos gets booked much faster!

How and when do I get paid as a Host?

We handle everything for you. When a Guest books your space, their payment is processed securely via Stripe. Your payout is automatically transferred to your nominated bank account after the Guest's booking begins. For long-term bookings, we process the payment and your payout automatically each month.

What is the commission fee?

It is completely free to list your space on ParkMyRig. We only charge a small service fee of 10% from the Host's payout on confirmed bookings. This fee allows us to run the platform, handle secure payments, and provide support to our community. There are no hidden charges.

What am I responsible for as a Host?

As a Host, your main responsibilities are to provide a safe and accessible space that accurately matches your listing description, and to be responsive to booking requests and messages from Guests. You are also responsible for your own property and public liability insurance.

Can I decide who parks in my space?

Yes, you are always in control. When you receive a booking request, you can view the Guest's profile and their message before you decide to accept or decline the request. You have the final say on who uses your space.

How do long term bookings (more than 90-days) work?

To ensure every payment is secure, our platform processes bookings in 3-month (90-day) increments. For a long-term stay, your initial booking and payment will be for the first 3 months. Towards the end of this period, you and the host can easily extend the booking for another 3 months directly through the platform. This ensures your payment is always secure and gives both you and the host flexibility. Always communicate with the host to confirm their availability for your desired total length of stay!
